The Ibis Rookery and bird hide is about 9 km north of Kerang off the Murray Valley Highway. It is the largest Ibis rookery in the Southern hemisphere. The area has a picnic area with basic toilet facilities and features a large bird hide built by the local Lions Club and Landcare community.

From the carpark and picnic area a compacted and level dirt pathway approximately 300metres long can be accessed to the bird hide. The ground level of the hide is accessible however the second level of the bird hide where the telescope is located requires climbing a staircase.
This can be achieved with some effort with both handrails and stair height manageable. Both the 1st and 2nd levels have seating to sit and watch the birdlife.
The picnic area has limited seating space and access to the toilet facility could be difficult due to the uneven ground and step before walking the boardwalk to the long drop toilet.
All proceeds of the Wobbly Boots Big Lap go directly MDT and allow them to make a real difference in the lives of Tasmanian families struggling with the effects of Muscular Dystrophy and similar allied conditions.
Please be patient if you contact us - there will be times when we have no reception and we will usually be checking emails and messages at night as our days will be full. Thankyou for your Interest and support :) - Warren and Kathy
