The Botanical Gardens are in the Booderee National Park and park fees are required to enter. The Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community are the Traditional Owners of the park and have worked on the gardens site for several generations. The gardens provide self guided walks to learn about bush tucker, the medicinal uses of plants, and the long association the Koori people have with the area and the plants of south-eastern Australia.

Parking and disability toilets are available at the Botanical Gardens.
There is a downhill pathway leading to the central gardens picnic area and from that point you have track options to explore. All options require both uphill and downhill tracks,no railings and unstable gravel, bush and pot holed pathways. For me I decided it was too risky to venture far and stayed in the upper picnic area.
